Finding Breakthrough in Your Business

Are you ready for breakthrough in your business and life this year?

Many times we can become weary in our calling, and we crave breakthrough! Serving others in such intimate ways as a coach is NOT for the faint-of-heart and even though our passion drives us to serve, we still find ourselves worn out and ready for BREAKTHROUGH! How many times have you found yourself READY for a “win” or a victory in your business?

So what exactly does “breakthrough” mean, in Scripture?

There are numerous Biblical accounts of breakthrough, many times dealing with battle scenes and wartime scenarios. One is 2 Chronicles 20:17-21, and it is a PERFECT representation of how God brings breakthrough for His people…

First, God lets us know that WE will not be the ones fighting the battle (how many times are we working harder instead of smarter in our business, trying to force timing, circumstances, etc?)

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lordwill give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.”

Secondly, after He promises our victory, we should get into worship!

“Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord. Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.”

Then the next step is to be obedient and go out and march!

In this Biblical story, the Israelites went out to do battle in worship-warfare mode!

Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful. After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:
“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”

That’s when the VICTORY is won!

“As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.”

~ 2 Chronicles 20:17-21

What a powerful story to apply to the principle of breakthrough!

Earlier this week, in the dark, still-early hours when my household was quiet, I was meditating on things over my cup of coffee…this upcoming year, this group of AMAZING entrepreneurs, our calling to serve others through our gifts, even the prayer call…and I felt God say…

“Focus is the key to the Breakthrough you seek.” and when I asked Him HOW, HOW do we focus in such a powerfully distracting world? When so much is happening and we are now CONSTANTLY aware of all the oppressing, depressing goings on in this ole world…and it pulls us off FOCUS from our goals and dreams and tasks…

...and He said “Look UP.”

As excited as I was to SO CLEARLY hear this gently word, I still asked, “well what about the other things that pull us off focus…our life stuff, family members getting sick and needing help…financial stresses and demands…what about all the temptations to GO and DO and say YES and shift our attention, our priorities from this calling?

And He said, “Look UP.”

For me, that means looking up, UP, above it all… when all I see is right HERE, the trials, struggles and stress that are LEVEL with me and are my reality…He is saying to look BEYOND that, turn our eyes (spiritual AND physical!) upward, looking beyond and above, these temporary things…

For me, that takes prayer, meditation, worship music, reading the Word, being in Nature, going outside OFTEN and breathing deeply of the crisp, fresh air. It's remembering to STOP, LOOK UP and BREATHE as we move into the next step in our calling and all we will face!

That’s where we’ll get the ability to TRULY FOCUS on what God has called us to and find BREAKTHROUGH!

“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come?” ~ Psalm 121:1

“To You I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens!” ~ Psalm 123:1

“Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.” ~ Isaiah 40:26

How do you “Look Up" in your life?
