I’m Coach Bess.

Mom of four miracles, wife to Juan, sister and friend to many ~ and passionate founder and leader of the Christian Health Coach Community (previously FRESH Start Coaching.)

This venture started back in 2013

when I was just a “baby coach” in a lot of ways - I had only been building my own health coaching business for about 2+ years. Other colleagues in the health coaching industry began asking me “how did you do it?”

“It” being build a boldly Christian health coaching business that had already produced a vibrant website with how-to’s, recipes and encouragement, my first book (a healthy-living Bible study that Church groups were using for small groups all over the country) and a bustling and profitable business where I was actively serving around 100 new clients a year, and hundreds more in my Challenges and groups!

I was creating my signature program (The FRESH Start Plan) and speaking to groups locally and around the US from lawn chairs, kitchen tables, on video and even from a pulpit or two. Bringing my passionate message of a grace-based healthy lifestyle that promotes healing and hope in people’s lives!

Out of mentoring other coaches (from a peer-to-peer, active coach, in-the-trenches perspective) from those earlier days, I realized I needed to “duplicate myself” better - create programs, support systems and guides that would serve more people without taking more and more from me. (I also knew I wanted to keep health coaching and running my FRESH Start Community so I had to work smarter, not harder!)

Now, years later, I shake my head at how God has grown this community…

mainly through word of mouth and referrals (or, Divine connection, as I like to call it!)… and how bonded this coaching team is together. It’s powerful, y’all!

The past few years have held many surprises in my own journey (difficult ones!) and now, through several “hits” in my own health, including a major spine correction surgery and difficult 18 month recovery along with discovering the root cause of my chronic pain/fatigue over last few years is Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. Through all this, God KEPT ME and kept my business intact.

It’s nothing short of a miracle.

I am living proof that if God calls you to it, He’ll bring you through it!

I’m also an exciting testimony of surviving, and even THRIVING in, all the ups and downs of this crazy life journey we are on - and how to keep a business you are called to intact! Through the roller coaster ride of a solo-preneur business, it IS possible to remain on purpose!
